The Staten Island Golf Association was founded and established in the early 1950's. The organization was created to foster golf between and among the member club's on Staten Island. Initially comprised of South Shore Men's Club, Silver Lake Men's Club, and Richmond County Country Club, the organization was designed to facilitate tournament competitions between all Staten Islanders.

The initial tournament schedule involved two tournaments - The Staten Island Amateur and The Staten Island Classic. We have now grown to more than twenty tournaments a year, traversing all different levels including: amateurs, juniors and "mixed" tournaments. The organization continues to grow and foster good will and camaraderie between golfers across Staten Island and beyond.
